AM: 11 miles easy
PM: 5 miles easy
Rock Creek Park for both runs. In the morning, I ran the back stables loop. Right when I got around the Ross Drive hill, I passed this woman walking her dog, some sort of beagle mix. When I passed, the dog started this low, deep howling that persisted until I was out of earshot. It was kind of spooky, especially running through the "Levy" area of the trails. And when I got to the top of the hill, I was overwhelmed by the smell of licorice, of all things. I could still hear the dog wailing almost a half mile behind me.
"Well, this is turning into a weird run," I thought to myself. Feeling a bit creeped out, I picked up the pace and made my way home.
