November 24

AM: 4 miles easy

PM: 4-mile tempo, 4 x 200 strides, 9 miles

Today was my first running double in roughly a month. I love doubles. Way back when I was first starting college, doubles were one of my first "Ah-ha!" moments as a runner. Ignoring the physiology behind the benefits, there's one simple truth: the best runners in the world train twice per day most days of the week. Adding doubles is almost a sure-fire way to see improvement as a runner. So do it!

I digress. The tempo run went splendidly, even if it was on the shorter side. I'm done with official classes for the semester, and so immediately after giving a presentation, I threw on my flats and tore out of the door to the track. A similar effort in a similar time period last year followed my MCM recovery, and today was better than that. If I can get on some grass in the next few weeks, I'll be feelin' good about Club XC's in December.

Splits: 5:17, 5:15, 5:13, 5:09.
